Our promise

Good things take time.

Great bread doesn’t need a long list of ingredients. It needs patience, experience, and people who care about what they put on your table.

Simple ingredients

Honest essentials, chosen with purpose. Nothing complicated for the sake of being complicated.

Patient craft

Fermentation, feel, and time-honored technique. Flavor is allowed to develop instead of being rushed.

Made for connection

Bread belongs in the middle of the table, where meals become conversations and moments become memories.

Grateful by nature

For the people who came before, the community carrying us forward, and every table that welcomes us back.

The next chapter

Rooted in gratitude.
Built to rise.

For more than three decades, Grateful Bread grew alongside Northern California. When the pandemic changed how people gathered, the bakery adapted and found new ways to reach families at home.

Just as the path forward was taking shape, a devastating fire in 2025 closed the bakery. What it could not take was the craft, the community, or the belief that something as simple as a loaf of bread can bring people closer together.

Today, Grateful Bakers Inc. is carrying that legacy forward—preserving what made Grateful Bread special while building a future worthy of the name.

Thank you for welcoming Grateful Bread back to your table.

Our story, one chapter at a time

A little bread.
A whole lot of heart.

From our first loaves to a new beginning, one thing has stayed the same: the people who make this story worth telling.

The illustrated Grateful Bread story: a bakery begins in 1990, community sustains it through 2020, a fire closes it in 2025, and a new chapter begins in 2026.

  1. 1990

    A good beginning.

Good ingredients and a lot of heart. Grateful Bread began baking slowly, honestly, and by hand—and found a place at Northern California’s tables.

  2. 2020

    You kept us going.

When the world changed, our community showed up. You bought bread, shared our story, and reminded us how much a simple loaf can mean.

  3. 2025

    More than a building.

A devastating fire took the bakery. It was heartbreaking, but it could not take the craft, the memories, or the community that grew around it.

  4. 2026

    Good things rise again.

Three entrepreneurs came together with a shared idea: bring Grateful Bread back. The same values, a new beginning, and so much to look forward to.

Thank you for being part of our next chapter.
